In recognition of the engineering excellence, innovative solution provision and in-depth expertise within the company, TecnoVeritas is regularly invited to participate in industry leading R&D projects.

In collaboration with industry partners, educational institutions and universities worldwide, TecnoVeritas develops innovative technologies and tools in preparation for future challenges.

Green Retrofitting of Existing Ships
(REFRESH) - FP7-285708 / 2012 – 2015

TecnoVeritas is a partner of the FP7 REFRESH Project. REFRESH will address the aspects of retrofitting that are essential for improving the energy efficiency onboard. The central concept of REFRESH is the dynamic energy modelling, i.e. the simulation of the energy production, consumption and losses over time. This idea will be implemented in a decision support tool that will allow onboard and ashore personnel to monitor the performance of the ship and adopt appropriate practices as a function of its operational profile.

The main objectives of REFRESH are the optimisation of the energy efficiency and air emissions for retrofitting and operation the development of a monitoring and management methodology for operation.

Hull Identification System for Marine Autonomous Robotics
(HISMAR) - FP6-012585 / 2005 - 2008

TecnoVeritas was a partner of the EC Frame work 6, HISMAR program.
This project offers a means to effectively and efficiently undertake hull inspection and maintenance, thereby improving the potential safety of the vessel.

Cleaning of the hull ensures that the vessel maintains the lowest possible resistance, which has an extremely large impact on the hydrocarbon fuel consumed and reduces vessel emissions and operating costs.
TecnoVeritas developed the mechanical study and manufacturing of the robot platform, water proof drive, motor casings and cleaning heads.

Extensive use of solid modelling computer tools was used as well as the use of a substantial knowledge of marine, mechanical and manufacturing engineering.

TECNOCAT - NOx Catalyser - EC PRIME project

TecnoVeritas developed a SCR type of NOx catalyser, called TecnoCat. To develop this project TecnoVeritas signed a contract with a Portuguese University – Universidade de Aveiro.
The catalyser, with a stainless steel support, was conceived in a way that it can be reusable. The prototype was successfully tested at the TecnoVeritas laboratory engine, with high efficiencies.
