EEDI
EEDI is an index that quantifies the amount of CO2 that a ship emits in relation to the transported cargo.
- It is mandatory for new ships and it is required a technical file with the information about the attained EEDI and its calculation process;
- It indicates the energy efficiency by CO2 emission per cargo carry;
- It is calculated based on IMO guidelines and the result must be below the limit required by MARPOL;
- EEDI and the technical file is verified by the flag administration.
