LabTecno is the accredited ISO 17025 fuel and oil laboratory of TecnoVeritas, which was designated by the Portuguese Maritime Authority, as the official laboratory for the inspection of vessels, ascertaining their compliance, identifying non-compliances and liaising with the Maritime Authorities applying control procedures for the enforcement of Directive (EU) 2016/802 (codified Council Directive 1999/32/EC as amended), as regards the sulphur content of marine fuels. 

This service is a novelty, as LabTecno, performs the fuel test onboard, analysing sulphur content “in locus“. The determined value is immediately known and communicated to all parties involved.   The method uses Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry.
